Manufacturing Engineering Summer 2017 Intern

Description: Sigma-Netics, an established manufacturer of pressure switches and metal bellows assemblies with facilities in Riverdale, New Jersey and Dongyang, China, has a summer internship opening for a Junior level industrial or manufacturing engineering student. The successful individual will work as a member of our manufacturing engineering team in our North Jersey facility to support the manufacturing of new and existing products. The student will gain valuable experience in areas such as fixture and tool design, workflow analysis, production cell design, generation of process travelers, time studies, etc. Products include pressure switches, transducers, aneroids, thermostats, metal bellows assemblies, and actuators for use in aerospace, military, medical, oil and gas, food, off-road equipment, etc. The successful candidate must be hands-on and possess excellent problem solving abilities, be energetic and a self-starter with strong communication skills who works well in a team environment.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering Major (Junior Level)

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks highly desirable
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning a plus
  • Ability to work with others in a cross functional team environment

Duration of position and compensation:

  • Summer 2017, 40 hours per week, paid hourly.

The Ideal Candidate must possess:

  • A proven record of selling Industrial products to a wide variety of OEM’s utilizing pneumatic and hydraulic devices
  • Strong communication, self-management and organizational skills
  • Well-developed presentation and sales skills
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, self-sufficient professional with a “make it happen" attitude & approach
  • Experience with the light to heavy-duty truck and off-road vehicle markets
  • Experience working with commercial and military based engineers to gain product specification on future projects
  • 30% National travel

Description: Sigma-Netics, Inc., a growing manufacturer of pressure switches, is seeking a highly motivated candidate with strong communication skills to be an integral part of the sales team. The Inside Sales Representative Summer Intern is the company’s initial face to the market and must be capable of getting past a gatekeeper and reaching key decision makers. Successful candidates must have excellent communication and phone skills, are detail oriented, and understand the importance of lead process management. All sales specialists use our CRM platform for lead management documentation. The position is focused on enterprise to small industrial market segments and will be responsible for lead generation and management. This is a part time position based in Riverdale, NJ with flexible working hours.

We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative Summer Intern with the following responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation through research of potential customers
  • Utilize our CRM program for managing and maintaining leads
  • Communicate with potential customers by phone and email
  • Support sales team by prequalifying opportunities
  • Self driven growth of the pressure sensing business unit

The Ideal Candidate must possess:

  • High school Diploma– Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Strong oral, written, and telephonic communication skills are required
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Type 40+ WPM with accuracy
  • Experience with CRM tools a plus
  • Sales experience is a huge plus!
